Pray for your Pastor

Today I want to encourage you to pray for your Pastor. People often forget that Pastors are human too and they go through and experience the same challenges as we do. People often like to complain, criticize and judge Pastors for decisions they make, for their actions, and even for their personalities, but let me ask, are you praying for him/her? What do you do that helps make his assignment a little easier to fulfill? Do you know the vision God has placed in his heart? What part do you play in helping see that God-given vision come to pass? You may not agree with every decision a Pastor makes but what you can do is pray that he always hears from God in everything he does and that he obeys. You can also pray for his/her needs and for their families. So instead of complaining or praying “about” your Pastor, I want to encourage you to please pray for him/her and for his/her family. You will be amazed at what God does!

Hebrews 13:16-18 (AMP)

16 Do not forget or neglect to do kindness and good, to be generous and distribute and contribute to the needy [of the church as embodiment and proof of fellowship], for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

17 Obey your spiritual leaders and submit to them [continually recognizing their authority over you], for they are constantly keeping watch over your souls and guarding your spiritual welfare, as men who will have to render an account [of their trust]. [Do your part to] let them do this with gladness and not with sighing and groaning, for that would not be profitable to you [either].

18 Keep praying for us, for we are convinced that we have a good (clear) conscience, that we want to walk uprightly and live a noble life, acting honorably and in complete honesty in all things.
